Just this morning I was wondering: Was the economic meltdown affecting Natalie Dylan's Virginity Auction? Were bidders who had been burned in the market pulling out prematurely?
The Daily Telegraph reports no — bidding was still healthy and was up to $3.7 million. We reported on a figure of $3.8million in late November, so either it was overblown at the time, or this report is just late to the game. You can listen to a radio interview with Ms Dylan from around the same time.
Either way, glad to hear that at least one sector of the economy is still strong.

I have a few questions about the nature of the contract she's drafting with both the Bunny Ranch and the buyer. Is the man buying her virginity "a john" or will he be given a more respectful title? What does $3.7 Million get him? Is there a time limit, say, 1 hour, or is she stuck with him all night, multiple tmes for $3.7M? And what is the Bunny Ranch's cut? Aside from (I guess) giving her a legal shelter to work as a prostitute, they gussied her up and took sexy photos. I think she could have kept it in her house, and found a photographer on her own, and save the 50% she might be paying the house...
yea but she probably won't attract the same level of clients because the bunny ranch is more legit? you know?
good for her!...the rate at which people are promiscous these days is getting out of control but no one says anything about it...all you here is....its 2009...get on with the program...but a girl has sex once and ask for money in return? it becomes a big scandal...am tired of the hypocrisy that is america.
Anybody know what happened to this whole thing? I mean, she's been "auctioning" herself since September and the bidding appears to still be open.
This just underscores my first thought when I heard about this: she's doing it for the attention and the money she can get from the attention. Perhaps she never intended to go through with it.
As of January 15, 2009, a 39 year old Australian businessman had bid $3.7 million. No news since then. Perhaps Natalie's 15 minutes are finally up. We think the economy put a damper on her money-earning capabilities.
