President Obama is hard at work on his first budget. This is your time to weigh in - your voice is urgently needed. Ask him to cut all funding for failed, medically inaccurate abstinence-only-until-marriage programs and to fund honest sex education.One $800,000 Community Based Abstinence Education (CBAE) grantee features a trained clown juggling machetes while dispensing incomplete and misleading information to his young audience.
Urge President Obama to get rid of the “clowns”: Stop funding failed abstinence-only-until-marriage programs!
The federal government has already wasted more than $1.5 billion on these ineffective and harmful programs. Young people deserve better!
We know President Obama supports medically accurate, age-appropriate sex education to help young people make responsible, healthy decisions. Now is the time to put his beliefs into action.
Act now and urge the President to fund what works – comprehensive sex education that includes information about abstinence, contraception, and condoms.
